I made it to Cinque Terre today and I really have to thank Dan Bones for the suggestion.
It was a looong way up, but it was totally worth it!
I really had no idea what to expect – I had looked on the wikipedia page but didn’t really read it. But I guess Cinque Terre is a large area of vineyards on the side of the mountain, and there are a couple tiny villages down the mountain, built onto the side of cliffs. I stopped in one and I can’t remember the name of it right now.
I was wondering why all my photos had a heavenly glow to them.
I just had a dirty lens.
The first night I was in Sardinia, I had some bread with my dinner. It was awful. That morning, I had eaten a warm, fresh baguette in Corsica. What a contrast!
I forgot that Italians don’t really make good bread, but their pasta is excellent.
Bonjour Heather,
how great it is to read your post and watch your amazing pictures !
By the way you look cuter and cuter on the pics ! Looks like your bike trip is having positive action inside and outside 🙂
Can’t wait to see you back in Nice !(if it’s in yourplan of course).

I’m glad your leg is healing well, yikes!
I’ve been riding alot lately, river road, prospect park and Dave and I went to the beach, “Dave’s Tour of the Worst Roads in Brooklyn” It’s fun, but so nice to look at where you’re riding. It looks incredible.
Happy riding,

Heather,
I am really enjoying reading your posts. I love stories about helpful people like the ones who took you to the hospital. Cinque Terre is on my list of places to visit – I think I read about it a few years ago in Wine Spectator (or something). It looks amazing.
Safe riding & tailwinds,
Roberto

I read your post fast and thought you said you ate a worm instead of “a warm, fresh baguette in Corsica.” That startled me.
I’m off to try to ride to Atlantic Beach. We’ll see if I make it!

Remember when mom found a worm in her snickers bar? I don’t know if she found a full one or part of one….Either way she never bought a candy bar from that store again!
