Two people had told me that riding in this area was really challenging, and after I fell yesterday, I had decided that I was going to take a bus to Aups, to get closer to the Grand Canyon without having to ride.
I got an early start, and got into Brignoles around 11. The bus didn’t leave until 6, and I decided that I would just ride, and if it was really hard, I would turn around.
I was so glad I didn’t wait! The riding was so beautiful and I was feeling great.
The sky was amazing and I felt like I finally discovered what Provence is.
I stopped in Sillans-la-Cascade and saw a really cool waterfall.
Then I continued on to Aups, where I stayed for the night.
They had a firework show and it was cool to see, since I wasn’t in the US for the fourth. I guess they were celebrating Bastille day, the 14th, a day early.
When I came back to the campsite, they were doing karaoke and it was HILARIOUS to see French people sing the YMCA.

I love the waterfall picture. You look really happy and healthy.
I’m glad you decided to ride rather than take the bus. I didn’t ride to work today and took the train and regretted it. I’m getting to see what you mean about hating to take the train and always wanting to ride.
