This was the one city in Spain that I definitely wanted to see.
I stayed with Mahrou and Dirk, two really awesome people who run a messenger company and Cruising Barcelona, a bike touring company in Barcelona.
heheh no one is looking at the camera but I like this photo the best.
It was really nice to be in such a lively house, with two cool dogs. What a great change from camping!
On Sunday I went on one of Mahrou’s tours and it was the most fun I’ve had on a bike in a while! No heavy bags, and I even wore flip flops and no helmet!
The green bike was mine. Check out those handlebars. I had ZZ Top’s ‘Low Rider’ playing in my head the whole time.
On Monday I went all around the city and saw the Parc Guell, which was really cool, but there were way too many people there.
I also checked out Gaudi’s houses
and ended the day with a tour of La Sagrada Familia. What an amazing church. Or temple. Or something, but definitely not a cathedral.
I want to come back and see what it looks like in 20 years, when their projected finish is.
Castell d’Aro to Barcelona

Big thanks to Dirk and Mahrou for letting me stay with them and to Squid and Felipe for the hook up!!!
